POLAND
SHALL NOT HAVE SILESIA. Received midnight, Juno Ist. LONDON, May 30. A "'Daily Chronicle's" correspondent who visited_ Silesia found tho fire of revolt burning among one and a half millions out of the two millions of th» population. Despite rain and cold demonstrations were made against the proposal to give the Silesian mines to Poland. It is pointed out that the people's sfn f iment overwhelmingly supports this attitude. A German leader declared that the entire working class is nrennring to defend their home soil. A thousand with upheld hands swore in unison : "We will remain free till death, rather than enter Polish slavery."
The correspondent adds: "The people are in deadly earnest and won't submit to control bv neonle of a lower culture. Tim Polish attempt at ocennation of Silesia will pi'ecipitate a bitter and bloody war."
