TJi© principal game at , tho Athletic Grounds will-bo Zingari v. Old Boys, and two other interesting fixtures are also to be played there. With the return of soldiers the teams are making good progress towards pre-war strength, and a good season appears assured.

During tho "carry-on" period of the war, the High School team entered the "senior" competition, and' for three' seasons was -the most popular fifteen in the district. A tentative entry was made in the top grade this year, but now that the senior clubs have regained much of their former strength, and the boys would be at a tremendous disadvantage in weight and age, it- has wisely been decided to withdraw the School team from the seniorsliip, and their first fifteen will this season take part in the contest for tho junior flag, which will still leave them a- grade higher than they ever played in prior to the war. The annual seveh-'a-side tournament, which has now been a- feature of the football year in South Canterbury for about a quarter, of a centurv,- will be played on Tuesday next, 3rd June.
