DUTCH AND BELGIAN; CLAIMS.
NAVIGATION PROBLEMS
Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn. Received 8 p.m., May 28th. . . -., PARIS, May 20. The Council of Four continued the discussion of the Dutch and Belgian claims. It is understood that the Dutch admit that the revision of the Treaty would allow them to use the mouths of the Scheldt and the Meuse without concessions of sovereignty.
THE BALKANS. It is semi-officially denied that an invitation has been sent to Bulgarian plenipotentiaries. THE FAR EAST. Progress information regarding the .Chinese agreement shows that the new divisions of spheres of influence in the Far East will be as follows:—British sphere of influence. Thibet, Szechuan and West Siam: French sphere, east Siam, Yunnan, Kweiehau. west Kuano--mung; , Japaneaa sphere, Shantung, Manchuria. Mongolia. The agreement opens the Yangtse to British 0 French and Japanese on equal terms. The price of Japanese recognition of Admiral Kolchak will he withdrawal from Byissian spheres in Manchuria and Mongolia. The Chinese are desirous to sign the . Treaty with a reservation respecting the Japanese clauses.
BOLSHEVIK QUESTIONS
The Council discussed the. new situation which has developed as a consequence of the Bolshevist refusal of the conditions suggested by the Allies for a revictualling scheme. A- Bolshevist wireless to-day endeavours to suggest that they did not refuse the terms. This is apparently an attempt to re-open the negotiations. SINN FEINERS CUT THEMSELVES OUT. Mr Lansing to the Sinn Feinera that it is impossible fox_ Americans to make further representations to the British Government in view of the offensive speeches of Sinn Feiners in Ireland.
