PERSONAL ITEMS.
Mr G. I. Anderson, who has just been elected Mayor of Danhevirke, was born in Timaru and was for some years a resident of Pleasant Point, where he has a sister-I—Mrs 1 —Mrs - George Saunders. He had a strenuous contest for the position lie has just won; and referring editorially to his election a Mayor the "Dannevirke Evening News" says that Mr Anderson's supporters as well as his opponents, know that he will not fail for want of high principle or conscientious attention to duty.
