BUJRNSIDE. ' A UUNEDIN, April 2. At Burnside to-day 206 fat cattla were penned. The quality was medium, the_ entry consisting chiefly of cows,an4 heifers. Good quality ox beef met with good competition and prices were well up to late rates. Cow beef was in poordemand and prices lower by fully £l. Best bullocks £l7. 10s to, £l9 extra to £2l 10s, .medium to good £ls to £l6 15s; best cows.and heifers £l2 to £l3, medium;: to good, £lO, to -., :£ll, light- £8- lOs.to £9 10s. ;..,..': , Sheep.-ri2484 were-penned, only" a, small proportion being of good quality. Ewes were in good ■ suppiy. The r demand for prime wethers and best ewes was fairly keen and prices- advanced Is 6d. Medium quality sold at late rates. Best wethers - 42s to ; 465, good 38s to 40s, medium 32s to' 345, light 27s to 30s; best ewes 38s to 40s> extra to 49s fid. good 32s to 345, light 25s to 28s. Lambs—l4s3 were penned; The quality was hardly up to last week's standard. Freezing buyers were operating carefully, and hardly came up td late rates. Best 27s to 28s 3d, medium to good 24s to 25s 6d light 20s .to 225. Pigs.—A good yarding of fats and stores. Prices of best baconers were firm at late rates. Choppers and- porkers showed a doclirae, and stores.realised recent rates.

SOUTHLAND RAM FAIR. INVEiRCARGILL, April 2. - The Southland tarn and ewe was held to-day. Wet weather conditions spoilt the attendance. Bidding was slow and most of the Border Leicesters were passed in. Romneys were in v more favour. The range of prices was —Stud Border Leicesters 6gns to 21 gns, Romneys 8 to 37, flock Border Leicesters li to 6Jgns, Romney 2J, to 6sgns, Shropshire 2gns.
