THE SCHOOL SPORTS.
To 1 the Editor, of "the'Timar-u Herald " ""Sir, —I beg to Cp spaied /-a little space in your valuable paper to comment on the manner in which the chairman and members or' the Rahgitata School Committee carried out thenduties in legard to the sports held at Timaru to-day for the school children ot South Canterbury. It seems to me that it is only themselves they look to, not to the children, as they did not even have the courtesy to call g, meeting to see if any ot the patents wished to take their families down for the day, or even, grant! them a holiday. I: think it is the Island liiitteo we want; as some of their faces •were pretty prominent at the sports.and if they were good enough to grant a holiday to their school, T think it is time the householders woke up and put in a committee capable of looking after the interests of,,the children licre —I am, etc.,
