PLEASANT POINT'S PLANS. .Tile iirsfc meeting of tlie Pleasant' X oint ; Peace Celebration Committee was held in the Technical School on Wed- ; nesday evening, Mr 'jl Maze; r in th* . chair. There was a large attendance ol members. The ladies of the district had bgen invited to attend and form a committee, and about" thirty turned up, , enabling a strong working committee I to be loimed, ail present agreeing ta I act:7. •After discussion it was decided that two days' • celebrations would bo enough , for Pleasant Point to undertake, and the following . programme was agreed upon. ' " ' 1. Sunday—Com,bihed open air' - service at ; the School' at 2'.3op'.hi. " ■Monday—Free. ; . Tuesday—Procession including returned soldiers, school children with flags;,--tradespeople's : fifcnoutsj "decorated vehicles of all descriptions, traclon engine with trucks, ete.y to leave | the school grounds in the forenoon and j inarch- via .the main road to the Park. { where- a-sports meeting (admission free) ' ; will be held, with events ; for children I and adults. Tea will be provided free ;on the grounds but everyone to be . asked -to bring their own cup and a. i basket.' ■ • : | A strong committee has been formed to arrange a sports programme- At night a -Peace Celebration Ball will be A held, which it is expected,will surpass A •anything of its kind ever held 'in the M district.
