ARRESTS IN BRITAIN. MYSTERIO US STOWAWAYS. Three foreigners found hiding in a Norwegian ship from Rotterdam -were arrested at Deal. One is believed to be a German or Austrian omeer, the others are Russians. All are unable to giv e a satisfactory accountof themselves. NEW SERIES OF NATIONAL BONDS. A TREASURY ANNOUNCEMENT. The Press Bureau state? that the Treasury will notify that after Febru-r ary I subscriptions will be receivable* for a new series of nntonal war bunds at 5 per cent., with a term of five
years and ten years, subject to income tax, or at 4 per cent, with a ten years term, the tax to be compounded. The first named series will be. issuable at par, redeemable at a premium, and the last named series issuable at 101 j, redeemable ao par. THE WOOLLEN TRADE. DEMAND FOR RELEASE. The executive for the Association of Export Merchants oi' raw materials and yarns at Bradford is pressing for the sale at the earliest possible moment, through ordinary trade organisations, of Government-owned colonial and English wool, open to free competition, subject only to necessary reserve limits. The executive considers that no Government wool should be sold to any foreign Government except for purely military purposes.
