Mrs H. H. Webb loaves to-day for Duncdin. to spend a few weeks with Mrs Howley at Onslow House. Miss Ada Rieeve and her business manager, Mr Holt, stayed at the Grcsvenor on Wednesday. Mrs George Hart, Beverley Road, leaves to-day for 'Ohristchurch. Mr Y. G. Day, has let his house in Nelsion Terrace to Mr Martin, for a year. Mr and Mrs Day have taken rooms at Beverley f rota - April 27th. Mrs J. Parry, Pareora., is thle guest of her sister, Mrs Moody, Beverley Road.

The engagement is announced of Ca.pta : n Arthur E. T. Rhodes, second son of the late Mr Timaru Rhodes and Mrs C. E. Thomas, of Timaru, to Miss Nell Hakswcth, Sflcond daughter of Mr and Mrs Hcldsworth, London, and formerly -of Dunedin. Miss Nina Verity, Craigmore Downs,, left last week for the North Island.

Mrs and Miss Murray, Ghristohurch, are spending a month at this Hydro Grand.

Miss Guinness, Wai-iti Rioad, has returned from Blenheim.

Mrs Miles, Cadogan. has been staying at Rangiora wi'tli Mrs Douglas Muir.

Mr and Mrs William Bullein, Ivaikora, are staying in Timaru. Mrs T. Pebley has returned to Ashijurton.

Mrs Cecil Oliiver, Fendalton, is spending- a holiday in Timaru. Mrs D. C, Thomas has gone back to Westerfield.

Mrs Fox, who is the guest of her mother, Mrs Bowie, Evans Street, Haves on Tuesday for Auckland. Dr Morlcane Mr Darby were the guests last week of Mrs Arda-gh, High Street, and returned to' Chiristchurch on Saturday. Chaplain-Captain Doyle and Mrs J. Mahon; who wore also there, left on Wednesday lor Auckland; Lieutcinaut Morrison, who was down on final leave, returned tlio same day, to Foatherstcn.

MrsMatiheson .and Miss E, Matlieson, have returned to Tinutru, after spending some months at Simon's,, Pas^.' Captain J. Garfield Crawford,' 1\1.C., spent the week end with his parents, Mr and Mrs A. Crawford, High Street. He left on Monday on his way to Invercargill. Mrs E. Rodgers and children return pd to Timaru on Thursday, after spending a month's holiday in Christchurch.

WEDDING

HAMMOOT-FAOTHAM. A quiet wedding took place at St. Matthew's Church, St. Albans, on Easter Monday, the bridegroom being Mr W. H. Hammond, eldest son of Mr O. AV. Hammond, Kimbell, South Canterbury, and the bride Miss Emiiy F ant-bam, second daughter of Mrs" Margaret Fantliam, St. Albans, and the Initio Mr Edward Fantham, Kainpoi. The Rev. H. H. Mathias, New Brighton, was the officiating clergyman.
