SCOUTS' SWIMMING SPORTS.
V AT CENTURY BATHS. The various troops of 15oy Scouts ill the Timarii d-.sin;;& held, uusr annual swimming spores, at the. Century swimming -bat-as'yesterday, afternoon. There was ti fail- attendance of spectators. Tiro weather was as near perfection as could be hoped for, and tho sports passed off very well. The Scouts took up tbo mat teg with zeal, and .some good exhibitions of -swimming were g.ven. Tlio -following are tho results;— 10Q Yards Open (breast stroke) —Ist beat, C. Leopold 1, A. Simmers 2; 2nd heat, M. Mulhern. (Geraldiue) 1, 11. Howard 2; 3rd heat, A. Hathaway 1, S. Richardson. 2; final: —C. Leopold 1, M. Mulhern. 2,'A.'Hathaway 3. 25 Yards under 12 (any uti olce) —H. Cox 1, E. Best 2. oO \ards Back Stroke—M. Mulhern 1, IS. Pearson 2. Springboard Dive.—K. Bracefieid and J. DeJoux tied for first- placo after repeating their dives several times. 50 Yards, competitors to be dressed in shirts, pants, and sox —Ist heat, M. Mil henji 1, C. Leopold 2; 2nt!' heat, A. Hathaway ], E. Pearson 2; final — C. Leopold 1, M. Mulhern 2. At tjio conclusion cf the sports the District Commander (Mr Innes-Jones) presented the medals tr> tbo winners, and "liters were, given for him and for Mr C. East wbo judged t-be events. The S'-ouf.s qualified for their swimming badges while racing.
