CARRIAGES FOR SOLDIERS. (From Our Own Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, Oct. 2. In the House to-day, replying to 'Mr Lee, Mr Herries stated that if there were sufficient ordinary railway carriages available they would be substituted for the trucks' in which soldiers are at present taken over the Rimutaka to Featherston Camp. He bad been advised, however, that very few carriages were available. ALLEGED USURY CASES. Replying to several members, the Attorney-General stated that the police had been instructed to look into allegations regarding cases of usury. Mr Wilford agreed to give particulars, with regard to a special business, which he said was the worst usury business in New Zealand.
