REGULATIONS GAZETTED. Tiio trout mid salmon regulations are now gazetted. Tile Waiiaki and the Raugit.-ua are salmon rivers in which the trout season, per se, ends on Janunry 15, unless a salmon license be tlieu taken out, when salmon and trout may both be lishej for until tho Tuesday next after Ka.->ter, in years where this falls alter April 15, and on April 15 in nil other years. Trout licenses iu nonsalmon rivers shall he issued from October 1 to April 30. Trout licenses for tho whole, season (save in salmon rivers as _ mentioned) are to cost £l. Sainton licenses are to cost 10s, tho season being from January 15 to April 15. licenses for non-residents in New Zealand shall be £1 for trout in any ae-liinatisation district and £1 for salmon in all salmon rivers. On the approval of tho Minister cf Murine, troutlicenses (I) for ono specified river only may be issued by nny acclimatisation Soc-icty obtaining the approval of the Minister o: Marine. In salmon rivers this license shall he for the period October 1 to January 14, but may be for the whole season for any river not proclaimed to he a. salmon river. A linlf-scasoiv? l'censc for tho period from October 1 to January U for 12s 6d in salmon rivers, ami for the same or any other p*riod_ in non-salmon rivers. A salmon license is to be issued only to the holder of a trout license which must bo produced and endorsed. Netting is illegal from April 15 to July 31 inside various specified rivers. The minimum penalty for persons guilty of taking saliikii or trout during their spawning season, or usinr. dynamite to secure trout or salmon, is £lO.
