LADIES' PATRIOTIC SOCIETY.
GENERAL COMMITTEE MEETING. A meeting of the General Committee was held on Saturday afternoon when there was a good attendance of members. Mr Maling, of the Advisory Committee, was in the chair. A letter was read from Mr E. R. Guinness, representative of the Y.M. C.A., asking the Society to join with the Y.M.C-.A. in holding a "Surprise Packet Day" during Show week, the proceeds to bo equally divided between, the two bodies. After discussion it was decided to join with the Y.M.C A. in this effort. In connection with this and the futuro work of the Y.M.C-.A., Mrs Guinness and Mrs Buchanan made it nuito clear that their work for the Y.M.C. A. would not clash with _ tlic. work of the Ladies' Patriotic Society, and they wished this to be clearly understood. A vote of thanks was passed to tho ladies of the Red Cross Committee for it=! valued assistance in connection with the Christ-nine Parrels T^nd. Accounts amounting to £279 19s 2d wee- T>n==erl for nnvment. Mrs Charles was elected a member of the Committee.
