LADIES' BENEVOLENT SOCIETY,
WAIMATE. At the aiimual meeting of Icli-e Wai-J mate Ladies' Benevolent Society there were present: Mesdames .]. Manchester (in 'che chair), Nicol, Meredith, G. A. Manchester, Adams and J. W. Man- ] Chester. During the year the Society has Jost by death its founder and President, Mrs Michael. S'&udholmeThe Secretary submitted an audited statement of receipts and expenditure. The report showed that 59 grants of firing; food, clothing and bedding had been made to nineteen persons; and 14 Christmas gifts of meat, tea and sugar, had been made. The foil curing ladies worn elected 'to office: President, Mrs. Manchester; Vice-President, Mrs Nicol; Secretary and Treasurer, Mrs J. W. Manchester. Votes of thanks were passed to all the subscribers; to Ithe monthly visitore, and to 'the Vice-President, Secretary and Auditor.
