Willoos, Robert A'. (Mrs J. W. Bennett, Linwood). MILITARY- CROSS. TWO MORE TO TIMARU. In the • latest list "of distinctions awarded io New Zealand appear !-_e names of two Timaru men. Lieutenant I. A. Bristol, and Second-. Lieutenant E. Ziesler. Both' have bijen awarded the Military Cross. The former was employed in the Timaru branch of the National Mortgage and Agency Co.,- Ltd., and the lattter in Dnlgety aiid Co.'s office, at the time xhey onh'stod. Private G. P. Crowe, and Private' J. W. Tennant, awarded Military- Medals, are also Timaru men. The former was the manager of .the Timaru. branch of the New Zealand Express Company, and the latter is a son of Mr George Tennant of this town.
Mrs S. Farrow, Waimataitai, lias received a private cable from her son, Rifleman W. J. Farrow, stating that lie. is doing well, and has been admitted to the New Zealand General Hospital, Broekenhurst. Rifleman Farrow has been seriously ill for some considerable/ time.
Advice lias been received that Captain J.. Garfield Crawford, son of Mr A. Crawford, High "Street, ' Tiniaru, who left with the Rifle Brigade and is attached to the Number Two N.Z. Field Ambulance, has been awarded the Military Cross. Cable advice has been received that Major H. Oram (a master at the Tmiaru Main School) has been transferred, and is at present on sick leave. It. is assumed from the cablegram that lie has been promoted from Captain to Major.
