ANZAC DAY.

CELEBRATIONS TO-MORROW. At their meeting, last night the Timani Borough Council made the following arrangements for the celebration of Anzac Day:— A public commemoration service to be held at 2.30 p.m. in King George's Place, the churches to be asked to conduct the same. If the day is wet toe service will be held in Olympia

i j - Defence representatives to be asked to take charge of the procession, which will comprise—Returned soldiers, bands, veterans, territorials, hon. terrinrl a l S ' Bri g a tfe, ' High School Cadets and Band, St. John Ambulance, nurses, and others.

A platform for the speakers is to be made large enough to provide for returned soldiers, veterans, clergy, and Councillors.

Units and details will parade at the Drill Shed, Timaru, at 1.45 p.m., for toe purpose of attending the commemoration service at King George's Place ihe procession will leave the Drillshed at 2.15 p.m. Units will fall in on their private parade grounds in toe vicinity of the Drillshed at 1.45. OC. units will inspect and prove their commands; and on the "advance" leing sounded .will march on to "markers" m Alexandra Square and form up as a battalion in mass formation for inspection. The parade, led by the Regimental Band, >viir proceed to" Kii;t George's Place via Stafford, CannonT and Sophia Street*. The precedence of corps will be as follows:—Officers, reserve and retired list, returned soldiers and' ex-contiiig-enters, veterans, Bth (S.C.) Mounted Rifles, N.Z. Railway Engineers, N.Z. Post and Teltsgrapn Corps, A Company v n d (5.0.) Regiment, No. 7 Co. (detachment) Army Service Corps, No. 6 Mounted Field Ambulance, Timaru Defence Rifle Club, Senior Cadet Companies No 8, 43, 44, 45 and 105, National Reserve and honorary Territorials, 2nd (S.C.) Regimental Band, Timaru High School Cadet Band, Timaru Senior Cadet Bugle Band. Soldiers on leave from Expeditionary Force training camps are invited to attend. They will report to Staff Sergeant-Major Johnston at 2 p.m. at the Drillshed.

The following dress is required • Officers—Dress drill order (khaki), caps, puttees, swords; other ranks, dress drill order (khaki), caps, puttees, rifles. Medals will he worn. Permission is granted for discharged returned soldiers to wear uniform.
