MEETING OF RAILWAY MEN.

SERIES OF RESOLUTION*. A large and' representative meeting of railwaymen was helcr in the Railway Social Hall yesterday, Mr J. Annear presiding. The-following resolutions were unanimously carried for publication in the Press:—

(1) Protesting to the Minister of Rail ways against 'clio re-appointment of Mr W. It. Haselcien as c hair man of the Appeal as this combined meeting of railwaymen has no confidence in the Appeal Board whilst he is chairman of same.

(2) Thai no peace proposals should bo agreed-upon with the Cenlcral Powers, that do not secure complete liberation for, and total reparation to our Allies, and further secure the total destruction of Prussian militarism.

' (3) That this meeting favours immediate steps being taken to organise and hring under control of the State, all the means of production and distribution of foodstuffs and other necessities of life. Thus the climhlktion of privaice profit would pave tliß way for the whole of the resources ot the Dominion being used to assist the bringing, of the war to a successful issue.

(4) That ttbe authorities, be strongly urged to increase the allowances to the dependents of those men ».vho are now, ana who will become, members of tliev Expeditionary Forces. • .
