There is considerable feeling among the public against bringing back to the lighting line silver-badged men who were discharged from the army on account of wounds. Many consider that the age should be raised before wounded men are re-enlisted. Mr Maepheraon, in the House of. Commons, stated that half a million men were discharged in the first eighteen months of the war, and it is estimated-that at least 0O!,OOO are now fit for service. Mr Pyecroft, Mi* Charles Seely, Mr McKenna, and, Mr Churchill are among members of the House who are actively agitating in the matter. MUST HAVE NATIONAL SERVICE. Mr Hayes-Fisher, M.P. for Fulham, said it was no exaggeration to say that Britain was in deadly peril at the present foment. There must be national service for everybody. We did not. mean to stand more than three years of war. We were united to kiipck out the; enemy in 1917, and-wdre beginning to do it.
