BAPTIST CHURCH.

SUNDAY SCHOOL ANNIVERSARY. The, Sunday School Anniversary services of the Timaru Baptist Church! were ooncluded last Friday with a tea and public meeting. The following ladies presided at the tables. Mosdames Lascelles, Robinson, Clay, Buxton, Webster, Misses Rogers, day, Buxton, Newlands, Tullock, Davie, Wagstaff. A large number of parents and friends sat down, to tea," the accommodation being overtaxed and requiring a second sitting. Tor the after meeting the church was filled, and Pastor Lascelles presided. : Sir A. E. Robinson, the secretary of the school, read the annual report, which stated that the school had been started just twelve, months ago ait the Manse, with four scholars, and the number on. the roll to ; day ! was fortyseven, with a staff of teachers and officers of eight, this being' irrespective of the Senior Bible Class. The number of infants on the cradle roll was 26. The amount contributed to missions etc., was £9 15s lid. • Very encouraging spiritual results had been attained amongst the senior scholars. ••

Pastor Innes and Rev. R. J. Liddell spoke sympathetically of the work accomplished and ,gavo some practical advice to the parents, teachers and scholars.

The following contributed- items*. — Misses L. Wagstaff, Pearson and Madge Robinson, Masters J. and G. Stoddart, R. Buxton, C. Grieve, also Alec Brown and 15. Spence. Every item was well rendered. Mrs Wagstaff presided at the organ arid Sir A. Lascelles accompanied with the violin. Great credit is due to the conductor (Mr IT. Wn.crsrtlaff), for the way in which the children sang at the Sunday services, also last night.

A hearty vote of thanks was passed to all who had helped to make the anniversary gathering so successful. -
