\ HIGH SCHOOLS' MATCH. TIMARTJ v , WAITAKI, The annual match between Timaru and Waftaki High Schools was commenced at the Timaru High School ground on Friday. The weather conditions were ideal and the wicket was in good playing order. Timaru toot first strike and compiled 118 (Shackleton 29. Boys2S, ScolttSD). 'Waitaki replied with' 7G (Hargreaves 24, Crawshaw 21). Timaru in their second attempt had made 03 for 3 wickets, when time was called. Continuing on Saturday, Tiinarii completed toheir second innings mating 120 (Irwin 30, Williams 20, Crawford 19, Buxton 19, Fahey 11) Requiring 162 to win Wadtaki secured that total for the loss of 8 wicke'cs (Martin 53, Orchard 36, Cook 19 not out, Church 12, Hargreaves 12, Crawshaw 11). Kerr and Orchard for Wattata, and Grieve and Buxifcon for Timaru were the most successful bowlors.
