SECOND DIVISION LEAGUE.
To the Editor of the "Timaru Herald." Sir,—l/icead' with regret' a letter "'in your issue ■ot the 2-4 th m&t. suggesting that members of the executive wno are over, the military age should "take the hmt and resign." One further notes the word "interference" referred to. I \ wish it to be widely known an, fairness j to those who come under that category, that at a meeting of Second Division men, held in the Arcade Cafe on February '23 rd, the election of members to the executive was carried on in the presence of between 200 and 300 men belonging to that Division., aind now, after some weeks, your correspondent suggests that the older men on the executive are unworthy to do other' than study their own interests. The idea, apparently has not occurred to the writer that until such time as the gentlemen referred to have proved unworthy of the trust reposed in them, the suggestion thait they should retire is most unjust. In Dunedin there are several men on the executive who are beyond "military age." I feel confident many will endorse my' expression of gratitude to those gentlemen , who are not concerned in the calling up of the Second Division,. acid yet who have accepted office an the executive and displayed active'interest .in our welfare. If the League is to be efficient we must have unity, hot discord. In conclusion, T. prefer to subscribe my name to that which I, have written,' and to assure the public' that this letter has not been written at the instigation of any one of the persons concerned'. —I am, etc.. C. G. BRYAN KING, (Hon. Sec'. South Canterbury Second Division League.)
