MESOPOTAMIA.

A SLUE WIPED OUT. • (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn. and Router.) Received 5.30 p.m., Feb. 28th. LONDON, Feb. 27. In the House of Lords, Lord Curzon added that our aeroplanes had bombed a steamer towing, a Turkish pontoon bridge upstream. • The tow slipped, and the pontoons floated away. ■ 110 said it was evident that .the scenoi of operations had shifted considerably upstream beyond Kut. The success announced yesterday had been followed up, and it was believed that several thousand prisoners had been taken. It was clear that the slur on our arms, if the phrase was applicable, caused by the events of last year,, was now entirely wiped out.
