TIMARU —THURSDAY, SEPT. 28. (Before Mr V. G. Day, S.M.y JUVENTLE COURT. Three lads for throwing stones- were severely admonished by the' Magistrate and discharged. DRUNKENNESS. Ralph S. Goodwin was fined 10s, iu deiiault 48 hours imprisonment, 'for being drunk on Uio Timai-u Railway Station. A first, offender charged with lien" helplessly drunk in Stafford Street, stated that he had had serious trouble, and had talten to drink. He had gone to the- police and informed them oi" his condition, and was detained to rece.ve medical treatment. Ho asked for a light penalty, and for time in which to pay it. Defendant was convicted, and ordered to pay medical expenses 30s, being allowed seven days in which to pay. A CRIMINAL CHARGE. AVilliam W. Gobbitt was charged that ho did atompb to commit a tenons ur.me. On the application of Senior-Sergeant King, accused was remanded nil tomorrow. BY-LAW CASES. Richard Wilson for driving a motorcar over tho intersect.ou of Jhurch and Stafford Streets at an excessive speed, was lined 20s and costs. PILLION CARRYING. Jamas McMeakiu was charged "with carrying a passenger on the. carrier of his motor cycle. The Magistrate said this was the first case of the kind here, and a similar case in Chnstehurdi had been dismissed.
