PRIVATE CABLES. Tho following cables havo been received by Tiinaru houses regarding the London wool sales just opened:— By Bank of New Zealand:—"Crossbreds are par to 5 per cent cheaper, merinos are unchanged.''

By N.Z.L. and M.A. Co. : T -"London Wool Sales. Good competition. Cross•bred very little change. Merino in favour of scud's." By Dalgety and Co.:—"Wool Sales. —.Selection mostly crossbreds; good attendance; animated competition. As compared with tho last sale's closing rates crossbreds are par to lower; slipos rather dearer, and merinos very firm to slightly dearer."

CLEARING SALE AT WAIHAORUNGA.

Messrs Guinness and LeCren report having held a successful clearing sale near Waihoarunga .on account of the executors of the lato W. Buchanan. Thoro was a largo attendance of buyers from all parts of the district, and tho stock, which was shown in tho best of condition, met with good competition. Mr Hugh Cameron attended to the catering, -which ho did in an excellent manner. The following are some of the- principal sales:— Sheep.—-4 and 6-tooth ewes 22s 5d and 22s 4d, s.m. ewes lis 4d, f.ni. ewes 4s 4d, wethers Bs. Horses.—Mares £23, £l3, geldings £l7 10s, £lO, £lO, £B.
