FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE is urgently required, mdoed tho need for voluntary effort is greater than ever, and the Society appeals to tho public of South Canterbury for generous financial support. THE FOLLOWING ARTICLES aro also required—Air pillows ana cushions, ash trays, bod jackets (flannel, natural colour or red;, bed socks (with or without heels, whito grey or fawn), bandages, blankets (white oi coloured), boot laces, braces, caps, cloth; cigarettes, combs, condensed milk, crutches, dressing gownf. 46 and 48 chest, length oo to SS: dusters, kitchen cloths, and knitted swabs, 12 inches square; frames, indoor and outdoor, puzzles, etc., handkerchiefs, red, white, and khaki ; hot water bottles, earthenware or-rubber and flannel covers; jug and cup covers, in butter muslin, weighted Willi beads, sizes 6, 8, 10 and 12 incises square; macintosh t'neets, matches, safety, small boxes most useful; medical comforts, such as Oxo, Brand's Essence, Valentine's meat juice; meat extracts, medical stores, lint, wool, gauze, boracic acid powder, boracic acid ointment, vaseline; milk, condensed : mittens and gloves, mufflers, khaki, grey or dark blue wool; old linen, operation gowns for surgeons, operation sleeves, pillow cases, t56 x 20. no buttons or tapes: pillows, feather, 30 x IS inches; pyjamas, flannel, and good Horrockv," flannelettes, chest 'IG to 48 inches; sheets, for singlo beds; shirts, night, flannel, and cotton with turnover collar, 17, 17i. and 18 inch neck measurement; soap, socks, with heels, sizes LI. 11 \, and 12 inches: splints, 45 x 3. 24 x 3, 22 x 3, 12 x 3 inches; sponges and washing gloves, stationery, writing blocks, post cards, etc.. stretchers, suits and overcoats, sweets, chocolates, peppermint, etc., table linen, i.e., tray cloths, serviettes etc.. tinned soups, to.vels. bath, huckaback and round, 3 yards long; utensils, feeding cups, spit cups, etc., china or enamel; vests, woven or flannel: walking sticks, ward suits, dark blue drill or serge, trimmed red
