The fighting in Belgium, and in the north of France is really for vantage points and some detail ground, such as a wood or a quarry which enables a; battery or two to pecoxas unassailable to possible organised attacks from behind it. .The German - losses southward of. Dismuide are appalling. One ■ body of troops was thrice flung back. It was allowed to come within 330 yards when the French fire cut down every man. Three thousand Germans 'were killed in ten minutes. - Captured German officers state that 500,000 'Germans are fighting in tlhe Yser district, and that the estimated losses are 90,000. One regiment of 1800 strong is' now' 80. The German losses include five generals. GERMAN REINFORCEMENTS. AMSTERDAM, Nor- 13. The "Daily Telegraph's" correspondent with the Allies states that the Bavarians reinforced the Germans near Ypres. The garrisons in central Belgium 'have been decreased in order 1o reinforce the front. - I

We have a-epuLsed German counter attacks -at Chavonne and Soupir, also at Berry- an Bac and made some progress elsewhere. \ TERRIBLE CARNAGE. AT YPRES. PARIS, Nov. 13. The Germans are pouring an avalanche of shells into Ypres, but the Allies' artillery is even more formidable and is inflicting terrible carnage.'
