ARRIVED SOMEWHERE. WITH MANY CHIEFTAINS. LONDON, Sept. f). J he urst contingent of Indian troops, 70.000, arrived this week. Accompanying the Expeditionary Force am Sir Perlab Singh, the Maharajah* of Riganer, Patiala. Jodpur, Phophn! and others. Tho Indian Government will contribute 1.000.000 towards the cost of the Indian contingent. HOUSE OF COMMONS CHEERS. THE VICEROY'S MESSAGE. Jhe House <>' Commons was deeply moved and cheered enthusiastically on hearing iscount Hardinge's intensely interesting account of how the Indian princes and people had offered their services. In ail seven hundred rulers had ottered their services and resources in men and money. Some are equipping a. hospital ship, others are providing 1000 hoises, As showing the extent *'t the officios the Dalai Lama has offered 1030 Tibetans. Mr Asquiih announced that Viscount Hardinge's message would be circulated throughout the world. Mr A\ ill Thorue exclaimed: "Send a copy to the Kaiser."
