TTJMARU BOROUGH COUNCIL, PROPOSAL TO RAISE A SPECIAL LOAN OF £IO,OOO. ] "jVTOTICE is hereby given that under -*■* "The Municipal Corporations Act 1908" and '' Tlie Local Bodies Loans Act 1913," and in pursuance of all other powers possessed by the Tiniaru Borough Council, that a poll oi the ratepayers of the Borough of Timaru will be taken on THURSDAY, the 24th day of September, ■ i 914, on the proposal of the .Timaru Borough Council to raise a special loan of £IO,OOO (to be known as Streets Loan No. 6) for the formation and completion to their adopted levels of all streets in the Borough of Timaru which have not yet been so formed (particulars whereof may be ascertained at the office of the Timaru Borough Council, King George's Place, Timaru, on week days between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. and from 10 a.m. until noon on Saturdays) such loan having a currency not exceeding 50 years, bearing interest not exceeding £5 per centum per annum on the amount of such loan or such greater or lesser amount as may be required for interest and may be allowed by law for the purpose of such loan and for other' purposes in relation thereto prescribed by the said Acts or any of them and that the proposed security for such loan is a special rate of one penny in the pound sterling calculated on the annual rateable value of all the rateable property in the whole of the said Borough, and that the provision for repayment of the said loan is a sinking fund of £1 per centum per annum on the amount of such loan or such greater or lessor amount as may be renuired and may be allowed bv law and that opst. of raising and the interest and sh ,1- ing fund fnv tbe first year may be paid out of this loan
