Tho game was keenly fought out and resolved itself into si forward game on the part of Marist, and an extreme!v finished back display by Main. The' Ma n backs allowed splend.d initiative and rare combination, and their passing bouts were a treat to w.tness, especially the one commenced from half wnv, and ended in a score, the bail being handled by several different players. Tho diarist boys put up a splend.d forward display, but their backs were palpably weak, .notwithstanding this they steed up to tlie opposition very well. Herdman was decidedly clc-ver, his side-stepping was well worth witnessing. Marshall, C'.issold and Stechman also slione out weil. Mar;st was minus combination, though they had several good players. Leeming at half was very "fair, while Joyce and Croxford also worked hard.
