* ADDRESS AT TEMUKA. At the fortnightly meeting of the Temuka Presbyterian Bible Glass Debating Club held on Tuesday the Eiv. C. Macdonald delivered an address in which ho stated the arguments for and against Bible reading in State schools. He approached his subject in a judicial frame of mind,, and whatever his own views may have been the arguments of each side lost nothing in force as presented by him. He supports ed no particular platform, leaving it to his audience to say whether the present system of secular education was preferable to what the Bible-in-State fc>:hool League propose. The subject was discussed at great length by these present, the speakers includinc Messrs A. Botting, T. Monahan. A.' Calder, Rev. J. Guy, E. G. Ilancox and AY. Davey. Xo vote was taken. The Rev. AY. A. Keay. Congregational minister of Auckland, is announced to address a public mooting on the Bible in.Schools question, in Wesley Hall on Monday evening next. A groat, deal of interest is being taken in this matter just now. so a large audience should greet the speaker.
