METHODIST CHURCH.
BANK ST. CIRCUIT. Tfao quartery meeting of the officials of the Methodist Church (.Bank St.) was held last evening in the schoolroom, Church Street, a large number of representatives being present. The Rev. T. A- Joughin presided. In the absence of the senior c-rcuit steward (Mr W. Gilchrist) owing to an accident, the junior circuit steward (Mr Stead) welcomed the chairman and Rev. J. R. Sullivan to this their first meeting with tbo officials.
In replying Mr Joughin asked for the full co-operation of all the members.
I'ho returns of membership disclosed a fair increase? during the past quarter. Owing to removal expenses and other matters, a fairly largo amount had to be carried forward, to debit. A good deal of discussion took place in connection with Sunday Schools, committees being set up to further tin's work. The week night Bible classes in the different places in the circuit were reported to be well attended. It was reported that Rev. Mr Slade had been successful in securing six young men from Cliff College, England, for work in New Zealand, and a sum of £5 was voted towards their travelling expenses.
