:■; MAITLAND STRIKE. A PERFECT MUDDLE. SYDNEY, July 14. Tho president of the "United Labourers' Union after a visit to the M'aitland strike- area states that the situation there is worse than in Mexico. An army of. three thousand mon has no plan of campaign and is thrown entirely* on its own resources. Tho present position is worse than in any industrial trouble since the maritime strike in 1890. The only way out of the difficulty is that the miners should reorganise to prevent politicians having official control.
