STOCK SALE.
WASHDYKE. The fortnightly sale at tlio above yards yesterday. There was a fair yarding of cattle and prices wore well maintained. Fat steers broug'lit up to £8 5s Od, and cows in calf fetched from £6 10s to £7 15s. In the sheep pens 200 D were yarded. Fat wethers were sold from 19s*to 23s lid. Fat ewes were firm, and in good demand, prices ranging from 14s 2d to 26s Id. Fat lambs came forward m good condition and some fetched top pi ices, extra good lambs making up io 275. Stores of all descriptors were rather dull of sale, and ill some instances reserves were not reached, and the entries were withdrawn. Some of the principal sales were as follows:
Fat Steers. —For F. Tozer. senr., 4 at ■£? ss. 1 at £7. Cows in calf, 1 at; £0 lO.s, 1 at £7 15s; hulls. I yearling at £2 Is. 1 six. months £1 4s.
Fat Ewes. —For \Y. King, 20 ai 26s Id: for 1). Peare-o 6 at 26s Id;'for F. Bennett.- 2 at 15s 9d: for J. Armstrong (Hadlow Park). 9 at 18s 7d; others, 4 at 14s, 8 at 17s. 13 and 6 at 14s 2d, 11 at 13s 9d. 9 at 18s 7d, 30 at 24s 10d, 5 at 16s, 15 los, 133 at, 16s L\i. Fat Wethers.—For G. H. Clarke, 45 at 20s Bd, 5 at 19s 6d;' for J. Armstrong, 42 at 23s lid: others 2 at 2Ts od, 17 at 22s 3d. 2 at 225." Fat Lambs.—For AY. F. Bennett. 2 at 235, 26 at 17s 6d: for "\V. C-adwal-lader. 17 at 16s 4d ; for -T. Pcarce, 12 at 18s: for C- Ryder. 100 at 16s 2d; 157 at los: for J. Divan. ,47 at 16s 6d: others 4 at 17s, ]7 at 16s 4d, 79 at 17s 9d, 10 at 13s 6d. Stores. —40 at 14s 6d, 27 at 14s od, 6 at 14s 2d. 10 at 13s 6d.
