The star eomedy of the evening is : 'The Life Savers" hy the Vitagraph Company, featuring Lilian Walker and "\Yallie Van. "Powers of the. Air." and "The Reward,:' are two beautiful dramas. "Italian Navy To-day, *' is an educational film of value, and "Gaumont Graphic" is a choice topical. A film of the Auckland races will also be shown. The last, picture of the evening is a Keystoiie comedy "Between the Showers," which is sure to cause much laughter. Selections from "Faust" will he rendered by the orchestra.
- THE THREE. ML'SKETEERS.'' Indications point to a record bouso at. the 'theatre to-nijjht, wheu "The Three Musketeers" will be screened for ihe first time here. So popular is -Alexandre Dnmr.s's famous work, that tho local booksellers have had a special demand for copies of the novel. The picture constitutes the lengthiest- film yet screened in one evening, and it is also 'the mosS costly production that New Zejilanders have seen. The film is described as a particularly faithful reproduction of Alexandre Dumas's fpjnous romance of love and thrilling n.dvenluro, "Tho Three Musketeers."' The film is 10.000 feet lons and 160,000 distinct photographs arc comprised in its composition. Yet there is said not to ho ono dulL moment throughout the exhibition, so admirably have tho actors concerned and the producers done t'heir work. .Tho artists taking; part arc said to constitute the longest and strongest caste ever combined for cinema, work. The names include many " of tho most distinguished people on the Italian stage. Tho richness of the costuming is another point upon which stress is laid. Tho dresses are spoken of as absolutely correct to-.the period, tho reign of Loins XIII. of France, and t'he various scenes are the spots named in Dumas's book. Throughout Australia 'The Three Musketeers'' is, spoken of as being a great success. It- was recently shown for .six weeks at Sydney, and for seven weeks at Melbourne. Special music will accompany the presentation. Patrons are requested to note that it has been found necessary to commence the overture at 7.5-3. so that those who wish to sec the big film in its entirety will please he seated at S o'clock sharp. Box plans will he nt the iDresden until 12 noon, and at tho Theatre during the afternoon.
