AND ITS TRANSFER, (Per Press Association.) GREYMOTJTH, July 7. The transfer of a liquor I'.censo a distance -of 66 miles "was successfully accomplished yesterday, when the application of A- O'Donnell for an accommodatioiv'license at Waiut-a (Blackwater Mines) was granted by the Westland Licensing; Committee. The modus operandi was to allow the ol'd Humphrey's Gulley Hotel license lor premises about 10 miles from Hokitika to lapse, thereby making an appuient opening. The police and C. Wagstaff, of Waitua. strongly objected to the application, and although the Magistrate, as. chairman, and one other member of the committee, opposed the application as illegal, a majority of the coin.mittee decided to grant' tho license.
