Ihe Railway Department notified that excursion, fares could not be issued m connection with the forthcoming show at as the traffic was too small to warrant this. Ihe lemukaMuniciDal Brass Band wrote accepting an offer of £6 for providing music at the Show. An account was received from Mr Dan Mclnnes for £ll3 6s 6d for the IT, T if a Shed on the show grounds. It was stated that the contract price was £lO3 and that some extra work had been done without authorisation.—On the motion of Mr AVarang, seconded by Mr Annitage, iu was agreed to pay the account less the cost of unauthorised work. Mr Shaw said that Mr Mclnnes had presented a splendid flag for the building, and ho would move that a letter ot appreciation and thanks be sent.— Carried. It was stated later that the work to which exception had been taken had been authorised by Mr D. Grant, and it was decided to pay Mr Mclnnes's claim in full if this should prove to be the case. Mr Maddren said that fcho Ground Committee were as far advanced with their preparations as it was possible to be until further information was available about the number of entries Mr Cam again brought up the question of having a gate erected at the scmthera end of the grounds.—lt was pointed out that nothing could be done this year. Tenders for privileges were accepted as follows:—Licensed booth. Mr C. J. McKay; fruit and sweets, Messrs Bnghtwell and Teesdale; luncheon, Mr G, H. Bryant.
