PERSONAL ITEMS.

The names of Miss M. A. Hedges, and Miss M. Kirk, of the Convent, of the ladies first aid class, were inadvertently omitted from the list published on the 13th inst,, of those who gained the _ St. John Ambulance Association certificates. Mr F. Rowley. Secretary to the Labour Department, and Chief Inspector of Factories, arrived at Timaru yesterday_ on an official visit. He leaves again to-day. Mrs" Rowley is accompanying her husband, Mr P. B. Strongman leaves Timaru to-day for Richmond, Nelson, where he takes up Home Mission work in connection with the Methodist Church. Mr Tate, of the staff of Messrs W. Panton and Son, Timara, leaves to-day for Sydney, to further pursue the study of his profession.
