GERISTCHHURCH, Oct. 4. The adjourned inquest touching the death of Mr George Bernard Nicholls, organiser of the Canterbury No License League, who succumbed to injuries received in an accident, was resumed today. The accident occurred at a corner of St. Albans Street and Papanui Road on Thursday. Mr Nicholls, who was. riding a motor cycle, collided with atramcar and received serious injuries which proved fatal.
At the previous sitting the medical evidence went to show that the immediate cause of death was fracture of the skull. Evidence was given that Mr Nicholls came out from St. Albans Street, and in trying to get across the road in front of an electric car coming towards the city he collided with the front portion of the car and appeared to be dragged about three yards before the car stopped. "When the car stopped deceased was thrown between two lines of the rails. _ The tramcar had just passed the stopping place, and appeared to be going at a walking pace. The motorman stated that he could not by any means, have avoided the accident, neither could deceased, owing to the speed at which he was travelling. It all happened lite a flash. He ran<r his gong before he came to the erossino-T The Coroner: It's a horriblv dangerous corner. Anybody might meet with an accident there.
