HOW WAS IT DONE?
THE WORK AT THE OUTFALL. A COMMISSION OF INQTIIRY. It seems likely that more will be heard of the. work at the northern drainage outfall, as Councillor J. W. Souter has handed in the following motion for consideration at the nest ordinary meeting of the Borough Council: — That a committee consisting of CoumciL lors Guinness, Manning, Malihgj Wal-. lace, and MbDuff be appointed to inquire into the following : (a) The manner in which the work at the northern drainage outfall was conducted on Thursday, ■ September 25, and Friday, September 26, 1913. (b) The manner in which the engineer in charge, and the men employed thereon, carried out their duties'oh the days mentioned. (c) The actions of His Worship the Mayor in relation to the engineer and workmen engaged on the work, - during the month of September 1913; and any other relevant matters.
The proceedings "of the committee ta be open to the Press.'
