Mr Warkden, secretary to the Railway Clerks' Society, states that the companies have notjiied the Government that unless legislation was passed in tho present session to enable them to increase rates, they would withdraw the concessions . granted to tho men after tho strike, and leave the Government to- face a national- railway strike. Mi- Williams, secretary of the Railway Servants, speaking at Manchester, said tho Midland Company were victimising men concerned in the strike, and if they did not stop it the unions would bo "compelled to take action. REEFTON MINES. j LOCK-OUT PAY CEASES. Pep. Press Association. R.EEFTON; Dec. 2. Tho Inangahua Miners' Union has declared that lock-out pay will cease from to-day. The pay was previously struck off, but resumed. Almost all tho miners are now employed. The Union voted £3O to the widow of Evans, who was killed at Waihi.
