CURIOUS LETTER. { TO THE MAYOR OF TIMARU, Hp Worship the, Mayor has lecoived. the ..following letter from Mr E. W. Gerken, Ponsonby, 'Auckland:— ''Your Worship. This letter, being addressed to a banker advised him not to wait for another boat lhan the one indicated for, "if you do you may not be in time take the -safes' -vlh all books, documents and anything that ] may be useful for starting a \ew Bank in another Colony."
