There was a good attenda-ine and splendid racing. The itartiig was without a flaw for the whole of the meeting. The total put through the machine was £28,324 against £26,616 last year. Half a length separated the iJiree at the fbus-h Time 1.19 4-5.

MANCHESTER HANDICAP, 250 sovs; 1J miles—3 Obligatit 7-7, 1; 8 Ceylon 7-8, 2; 6 Mendip 8-5, 3. Other starters were—7 Patriotic 7-13. 9 Manawakaha 7-9. 4 Sir Sola 7-9, 10 Ariom 7-3, 2 Ngatimaru 7-11, 11 British Maid 7-1, 1 Imagination- 6-13, 5 Bonny Boy 6-11. Obligant led int othe straight from Mendip, Ceylon came up fast and got second plate, Obligant v : ii.i;ing easily by two lengths. Time 2.16 3-5. CHELTENHAM HURDLES, 150 sovs; 1$ miles —2 Koran 11-0, 1 ; 4 Cornelian-10-8, 2; 1 Silver Cluse 11-8, 3. Also ran —5 Leolanter 10-1, 6 Windago 9-10. Koran won tasily by three lengths. Time 3.30 2-5. The crowd gave Coker on Koran an exceedingly venonous hooting i'or boring Cornelian in the straight, aud for some time after he weighed in. A protest was immediately put in Ly iho owner of Cornelian, bat "the s - swards wora already dealing! with the .vittter. The protest was sustained and the race was awarded to Cornelian, while Colter was disqualified during the pleasure of the stewards. Looianter was paced third.

Coming into the straight Loch Maben and Gm the Sbaughraun led, Royal Marine put in a good run and won by half a length. Time 2.5.
