Three months bills 3s. RISE IN STJGXR. Owing to a sharp rise in sugar prices, insurances are being effected' on the increased vales of numerous cargoes afloat from Java, Cuba and Port Rica. JUTE FIBRE IN WOOL. MELBOURNE, Sept. 5. Mr Tudur, -Federal Minister for Trndo and Customs, states That ho is diffident about taking action in connection with the Roubais Conferences'* complaint about juts fibre 'in wool. He prefers that those concerned should find a remedy. ' ADVANCE IN WHEAT. SYDNEY, Sept. 5. 1 Whom, owing to pr.vato advices from London, has' advanced a penny. Quotations for parcels ore 3s 8d to 3s BJd.. CHRISTOHURCH PRODUCE MARKETS. Per Press Association. CHRISTOHURCH, Sept, 5. TheTe is a good inquiry for wheat, but there are no sellers either among merchants or farmers. Prices are firmer, and holders are not disposed to sell at the present time, srenf; that there can be 110 more wheat in the country than will suffice for the remainder of the year. Oats are also wanted, but only small lots can be picked up, and prices are very firm. Chaff is rather more difficult to procure, and there is no change in prices. Potatoes are dull of sale, and prices somowhat easier. Supplies for the North Island can be obtained at cheaper rates from the south. The price of butter has been reduced Id per lb all round.
