Messrs O'Caliaghan and LeCren report as follows on business during thef pasu week: — Poultry.—A fu'U' entry came forward, and met with an excellent sale ab coo&idembly improved prices. Hens is 3d, to 5s for some extra good pens;* cockerels. 3s to 4s 9d for prime birds; ducks, 3s 9d to ss. Pigs.—A larg© entry was penned mid we have to report a good sale for good healthy wean era of fair size, but tliiero is not mucfii demand for medium sorts. Produce. —Potatoes—Local demand is dull. For shipment there is only a limited demand, and .at greatly reduced prices. Northern ports are now offeriug equal to £2. 10s to £2 15s on trucks at country stations.. There are large quantities of tubers still to be sold, and there seams but little prospect of a rise. We have orders for a limited quantity at the above. prices, for next boat. Fowi wfoorat:—There is an excellent demand, nnd supplies are urgently required. Good fowl wheat is worth }. lis. Oats—Good feed lines are worth i2s 6d, and supplies are required. ; Oatsheaf Chaff —There is a good local i demand at £4 ss. There was a largo attendance of buyers, and an excellent sale resulted:— Duchess© pair. £8 15s, bedsteads £1 to £4 o« t wardrobe £4 10s, suite £ll 10s, safe £G 15s, bieyeks £3 to £7. Immediately after the auction, however, a brisk demand set in, with the result that three of the lots on Mill ftoad wera sold a satisfactory prices, and it is anticipated. from tho number of inquiries, that all the propsrties will bo speedily disposed of. A number of intending purchasers refrained from bidding at the auction as t.he blocks as submitted did not suit them, and the trustees are prennred to consider suggestions for outline: up the property in more convenient areas.
