The Archbishop of York made a stirring appeal to laymen to form a club for the promotion of social service. INTERCESSION SERVICES. Queen's Hall was filled to-day. for services of intercession. All denominations were represented, the Bishops of Ripon and London presiding. Similar intercessions were held throughout the country. ;

N.Z. PRESENTS TO THE KING AN*D QUEEN. The King received tlie Over-sea representatives at Buckingham Palace today. Sir J. G. Ward afterwards presented the "Honourable Roddy" nugget, and the Maoris an address, and Lady Ward presented the Women's address to the Queen. The King expressed his appreciation, and said he treasured warm memories of his visit to the Maoris. Queen Mary thanked Lady Ward for the women's kindly expressions. v AUSTRALIAN CELEBRATIONS. " SYDNEY, June 22. The Coronation celebrations commenced yesterday with demonstrations in the public schools. Patriotic songs were sung by two hundred and) fifty thousand children, and Coronation medals were distributed. Great preparations have been com-, pleted for celebrating the Coronation.
