At the last- meeting of the Gteraldine City Council feeling reference was made to the death, of the late Mr A. Kel--iiian, who had been a very valued member of that body. The chairman (Mr G. J. Demiisteun) said that he had sat -on the Council for a great many years with the late Mr Kelman and he had alwaj-s found him a loyal and painstaking member, who furthered their work as much as possible. He moved—"That the Counoil desires to express sincere sympathy with. Mrs Kelman and the members of her family at the loss of her husband." Mr Kelman had been a member of the Council for seventeen years and had always done his duty. The members greatly deplored his loss r«s a councillor and friend. Tiie resolution was signed by all the members and was carried in silence. The Council then adjouni-sd for half an hour as a mark of respect.
