Regarding the proposal to form ft Draught Horse Breeders' AfcJJocriation for Now Zealand, with lea<lquart©vfi in Dunodin, tho u Otago Daily Times'' points out tlint wliat is desired is to found a Clydesdale Horso Society on tho same linos as tho Clydesdale Hor&o Society in Groat Britam, which \ras established in 1877. Tho breeders rt Groat Britain found that their Clydesdales were refused admission to the United Stales, Canada, and tho Argentine unless thoir breeding was authenticated by a recognised v society, and it was to overoomo this difficulty that the parent organisation was formed. It is considered that if Iho Clydesdnlo stud-musters of Now Zealand desire to retain thoir trade with the Australian States and othor outside markets, it will bo necesaaxy for them to protect themselves In n frtmilar way.
