Sanction was given to Sir F. Quinn, Ashburton, to affix numbers to tho Louses in the borough, the Council tal:- ' ii.g no responsibility, and each houxc- ! It was agreed to reduco tho charge | f>* water to .Mr Taylor s hotcd by hair, j Some 'recommendations by the Works Committee concerning improvements to Cox street and jcpairs at pavilion and baths were approved. t . r jhe overseer's report mentioned the street works attended to. and that a shortage of water had been made up the use of an engine. The gas geneiators had worked well. The receipts- for the . month were £ll6 6s. and accounts for £137 3s lOd were passed for payment. The Council also dealt with Domain end Cemetery business, and passed tho respective accounts.
