• MURDERS IN A PRISON. Press Association —By Tel. —Copyright. MOSCOW, Feb. 5. A convict, pretonding that ho required material for work, shot a warder 1 wit)i a revolver. Two other warders rushed up and tho convict killed both. Two other convicts armed themselves with tho revolvers of tho dead warders and joined tho murderer, barricading a storeroom. They killed a fourth warder, and dangerously wounded a fifth. Tho military then surrounded tha oonviots, who eventually surrendered. ATTEMPTED ASSASSINATION. TEHERAN. Feb. 5. Two Armenians, using revolvers, f.eriously wounded Said-od-Dowlop, Ministor of Finance, in the streets while ho was returning from a mooting of the National Assombly. The would-be assassins escaped. VANDALISM. AMSTERDAM, Fob. 6. Sigrist, a discharged naval oook, was sentenced to two years imprisonment for slashing with a knifo Rembrandt's picture "The Night Watch," in the State Museum. A MINING FRAUD. PERTH, Fob. G. In connection with the investigation arising out of the reported phenomenally rich oro in the Chaffinch mine, and subsequent heavy slump in shares, warrants have been issued for the nrrost of Bonwick, mining agent, Uyason, mining investor, and Greenway, mine manager, on a charge of conspiracy to defraud the public. All three have been arrested. THE TOXIN MURDERS. ST. PETERSBURG, Fob. 6. The evidenco against Dolacy largily oonsisted of a typewritten letter cryptically worded in French, found in Pantchenko's rooms, and in tho light of Pontcheuko's confession the lottcr is construed as referring to the murder of General Buturlin. The prosecution states that defects in the writing ;.io traceable to Delacy's typewriter.
