CHRISTCHURCH v. PAREORA.
Two verv interesting polo matches wen.- plavcu at Hoiiiie atanon, rareora on Ssarurtlav aiterncon, between teams representing tno Uimstciiurcli and i'artora i'o.o Uubs. The teams were Pareora (AJ, Eiworthy Bros, and J. C. iiiiler. x'areora <Ji), it. Jameson, L. M Anderson and Warurop, Cixristchur'di (.A), T. Cowlishaw, J. D. Hall, Dr Muitland, and Dr Fox. tlfiristciiurch (B), T. Rhodes, lYee, P. Lindsay and Dr Jones. The game between Pareora A and Christciiurch. A was particularly keenly fought out, and though Pareora won by nine goals to two they had to battle hard for their victory. Pareora B team suffered defeat by Christchurch, B by three goals to one. Mr Melville Jameson was umpire for the senior game, and Messrs A. S. Eiworthy and J. C. Miller divided similar honours for the junior game, and Major Lindsay acted as timer keeper. The weather was gloriously fine and the large number of spectators must have thoroughly enjoyed the aport, the day, and the excellent afternon tea provided by Mesdames Et■worfhy.
